Balanced Knights topple Friendship 74-61
RALEIGH — Five players netted double figures in scoring for the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team Friday night as the Knights remained unbeaten in the 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference with a 74-61 win at Friendship Christian on Friday.
Greenfield (17-4) was paced by junior guard Dji Bailey, who had 18 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds. Four other juniors —Jacari Outlaw (14), Creighton Lebo (14), Jordan Lynch (11) and Collin Guilford (10) also contributed to the balanced scoresheet.
The Knights led 44-28 at the half and 52-42 entering the fourth quarter. With a game Saturday at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex against Northern Guilford, Greenfield substituted liberally.
Greenfield’s defense forced 24 turnovers from Friendship.
Tylan Green’s 22 points led all scorers for the Falcons (8-3, 1-2 CPIC).
