Cohesive Knights blast Wayne Christian

GOLDSBORO — A 16-point performance by Dji Bailey led the Greenfield School boys basketball team to a 90-50 balanced team victory at Wayne Christian on Tuesday night.

As a team, the Knights (19-4) shot 12-for-21 from the 3-point line, putting down the Eagles in a 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independent Conference matchup for good with a 30-point third quarter.

Spreading the wealth offensively with five scorers in double digits — Creighton Lebo, Jordan Lynch, Bailey, Trey Pittman and Hampton Evans — Greenfield overcame Wayne Christian’s leading scorer, Jay Curry, who scored 20 points in the loss.

The Knights will travel to Raleigh Friendship Christian on Friday for another conference game.
