Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Coby White, Greenfield School
Sophomore Coby White put his name in the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball record book last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
Coby, a 6-foot-4 guard, scored 46 points in the Knights’ 90-87 loss at Smithfield Neuse Charter on Friday, breaking the single-game scoring record of 42 points, set by current Harlem Globetrotter Anthony Atkinson. He added 11 rebounds and six assists.
In the Knights’ victories over Cape Fear Christian on Saturday and an Australian traveling team on Wednesday, Coby scored 30 and 29 points, respectively, to finish with an average of 35 points for the week.
At Greenfield Coby holds a 3.3 grade point average and is a member of the Sports Analytics and Fantasy Sport club.
The son of Bonita and Donald White of Goldsboro, Coby plays for the Team Wall club basketball team, based in Raleigh.
