Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week: Tristan Kosich, Greenfield School
Senior Tristan Kosich was right in the middle of a pair of shutout wins by his Greenfield School varsity boys soccer team last week, making him this week’s Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.
From his center back position, Tristan led the defensive effort for the Knights in their 9-0 defeat of Ridgecroft on Tuesday in Ahoskie, where he also scored a goal, and a 2-0 victory at Fayetteville Freedom Christian on Friday. Greenfield, now 10-3-2 and ranked No. 4 among state 1-A private school teams by North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association, has posted nine shutouts so far.
Tristan, the son of Elizabeth and Mark Kosich of Wilson, has a 4.81 weighted GPA at Greenfield, where he is a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Government Association, for which he serves as treasurer. He also plays baseball and was a starter on the Knights’ state championship team last spring.
Tristan was recently nominated for the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He has served as a volunteer worker for such as events at The Brittany, Alice Cobb Memorial Tennis Tournament at Battle at Buckhorn Sprint Triathlon.
