For the second consecutive year, Christ School has received a forfeit win in the first round of the NCISAA Division II football playoffs.
Seventh-seeded SouthLake Christian Academy (3-7) out of Huntersville has informed the state association that it will not travel to Arden for Friday's first-round game.
The Greenies (9-1) therefore advance to host the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between No. 6 Metrolina Christian (6-4) and No. 3 Ravenscroft (6-5).
Christ School has had five football games either postponed or cancelled the past two years. Asheville School forfeited a first-round playoff game in 2015 which was also scheduled for the Greenies' Fayssoux Field.
As punishment, the NCISAA levied a $750 fine and postseason ban, but later allowed the Blues to participate in this year's Division III playoffs
