SPECIAL TO THE ENTERPRISE
HIGH POINT — High Point Christian Academy made sure Senior Night featured a happy ending on Friday.
Senior Bam Adebayo dominated play for 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Cougars cruised past Village Christian Academy for a 96-77 victory.
“Bam is a special player,” HPCA coach Brandon Clifford said. “He is just a fun guy to have around the program.”
Adebayo was honored for being selected to play in the Jordan Brand Classic in a pregame ceremony.
After a tight first half, the Cougars (21-4) unleashed a 25-16 third-quarter run and never looked back. HPCA led 21-20 after the first quarter and 44-37 at halftime.
HPCA junior Michael Hueitt Jr. notched a team-high 20 points, including several 3-pointers to shift the momentum in the game.
“Mike is a microwave-type offensive player,” Clifford said. “Once he gets going he can hit five or six in a row, and not many guys can do that. He’s a confident kid and once he sees the ball go through the net, he can really heat up.”
Michal Seals chipped in 11 points for the Cougars, while Ben Robertson netted 10 points and Ty Graves and Reece Bogan had nine points each.
Jordan Ratlif fe led the Knights (14-4) with 26 points, while Jalen Banks added 15.
HPCA returns to PACIS action with a huge game at Wesleyan Christian Academy on Tuesday.
