Lawrence Academy won the Tarboro Easter Classic in dominating fashion drubbing home standing Tarboro HS 17-7 in Friday night's final. The tournament which is in its 22nd year is one of the oldest in the state of NC.
In the finals Warrior pitcher Jarrett Harrell led the way pitching a complete game, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, striking out nine and walking only two Viking hitters. Daquan Wilson 2-2 and Slade Cowan 3-4 led the offense for the undefeated Warriors now 17-0.
Lawrence took earlier wins in the classic over a pair of NCHSAA 2A members Bertie Co 6-5 and Southwest Edgecombe 3-1.
