Northside (11-5, 5-0) took over sole possession of first place in the Metrolina Athletic Conference with a narrow win. The Knights outscored SouthLake 7-0 in overtime. Northside trailed 30-21 at halftime and 43-37 at the end of the third quarter, but rallied behind reserves Michael McKoy and Brandon Dean (four fourth quarter steals), who ramped up the defensive pressure. Nate Hinton, a 6-5 sophomore forward, had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Colton Cashaw had 11 points and eight assists.
