HIGH POINT — High Point Christian needed just five innings to down visiting Dudley 14-1 in nonconference baseball Monday at Oak View Baptist Church. The Cougars scored three in the first, fourth in the second, fourth in the third and three in the fourth. The game was called because of a 10-run mercy rule. Leading hitters for HPCA (5-0) included Mitch Adams (2 for 3, two runs, two RBIs). Carter Bass (2 for 4, two runs, two RBIs), Noah Hill (2 for 2, two RBIs) and Gavin Kulb (1-2, one run, two RBIs). Cougar starter Avery Greeson got the win and improved to 2-0. He allowed three hits and struck out five in three innings. HPCA returns to action on Thursday at Davie County.
