Parrott Academy’s Connor Bright outdueled Nash Central’s Cameron Taylor and the 2015 North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 2-A champions emerged with a 1-0 victory in Tuesday’s final round of the third annual Golden Leaf Invitatioal.
Bright spaced five hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out six. Taylor permitted just two hits and an unearned run. He walked three and struck out 10.
Parrott, 1-2 in the tournament, scored in the top of the seventh on two Bulldogs’ errors. Nash Central went 0-3 in the event.
