Balance was display for the Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team in its season opener Monday night, as the Knights received 16 points from four different sources in a 98-40 victory over DASH United.
Freshman Hampton Evans, junior Aaron Murphy, freshman Jordan Vick and Hunt High sophomore transfer TyChaun Clay each collected that amount for Greenfield, a 1-A member of the split 1-A/2-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference.
The Knights were 10 for 22 from behind the 3-point line.
“We did a fantastic job sharing the ball,” Greenfield head coach Rob Salter said. “The kids were excited to get back out on the floor. With no fans, I could hear how much we were communicating.”
Eleven of 12 Knights that saw action scored. Sophomore Matt Kirby bucketed nine points, with sophomore Jackson Watt adding eight.
Jacob Dienes led DASH with 11 points.
Greenfield returns to play Thursday, hosting Alamance Homeschool
