Pridgen wins twice in Greenfield loss

Jade Pridgen prevailed in singles and doubles in the Greenfield School girls tennis team’s 7-2 loss to Faith Christian on Monday.

Pridgen outlasted Sarah Nelms, 3-6, 6-4, (10-6) at No. 4 singles and teamed with Michelle Giron for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

Greenfield suffered its fifth loss against one win, managing just one positive outcome in a trio of three-set matches.

“It was good to see Jade get a win after her recent struggles,” commented Greenfield coach Robert Cunningham. “We competed well but were unable to capitalize in the close matches. Hopefully, as the season progresses, we will be able to come out on top in these close matches.”

The Lady Knights visit Harrells Christian on Tuesday afternoon.
