GIBSONVILLE — Five players scored in double figures as The Burlington School routed Southeast Guilford 78-54 in the opening round of the Eastern Guilford Holiday Tournament for boys’ basketball Monday.
Jordan Nelson paced the Spartans (14-0) with 19 points. Carrington Young added 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while John Meeks chipped in 12 points. Tre Cousin and T.J. Jeffers both finished with 10 points. Jeffers also dished out five assists and had three steals.
Bernard Wright had 18 points for the Falcons (2-8).
The Burlington School will face Oxford Webb today, with the winner advancing to Wednesday night’s championship against the winner between Knightdale and Eastern Guilford.
