N.C Independent Schools 2A all-state guard Nate Hinton told the Observer he is transferring from Northside Christian to Gaston Day. Hinton played his sophomore season at Northside Christian in 2015-16, where he averaged 18 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 1.8 assists per game. He helped lead Northside to a 21-7 record and an appearance in the NCISAA 2A state championship game.
Hinton, a 6-foot-5 rising junior, took an unofficial visit to Wake Forest Tuesday morning. He played his freshman season at Gaston Day in 2014-15, averaging 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
