Woodlawn gets girls and boys individual 1A titles
Woodlawn School got a state championship double in the N.C. Independent Schools 1A state cross-country championships Friday at McAlpine Park.
Woodlawn School, which opened in 2002, is in Iredell County, just north of Davidson.
Woodlawn’s Quinn Schneider won the boys race and Anne Cunningham won the girls.
In the boys race, Schneider ran a time of 16:59.10 to win easily over Halifax Academy’s Jackson Harris (18:06) and teammate Zachery Lorch (18:48). Woodlawn won the team title, ahead of Hickory Christian.
Cunningham won the girls 1A title in a time of 22:15, to narrowly edge teammate Bella Jacoby (22:18). Community Chrisitan’s Morgan Lane (22:35) was third. Wayne Country Day won the team title.
