Louisburg defeats NRCA behind Elijah Jamison's 40 points

Raleigh, N.C. — Louisburg defeated North Raleigh Christian Academy in the nightcap of the 2020 Phenom Hoops City of Oaks Classic. The event was held at NRCA. The Warriors beat the Knights by a score of 65-57.
The Knights got off to a quality start in the first quarter, outscoring Louisburg 18-14. Eathan Beatty scored seven points in the first quarter for North Raleigh Christian Academy. Jordan Durham led Louisburg with seven points.
North Raleigh Christian continued to outpace Louisburg in the second quarter. The Knights outscored the Warriors 16-15. NRCA hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter. Jamison had nine to pace Louisburg in the quarter.
At halftime, NRCA led 34-29.
In the second half, NRCA had to play without its center Braeden Miller. Miller had concussion-like symptoms. In the first half, Miller scored nine points.
Louisburg’s Elijah Jamison had 15 points to go with 9 rebounds in the first half. Corey Jones led the way for NRCA with 10 points at the break.
In the third quarter, NRCA got six points from both Tripp Lilly and Joshua Rogosich. For Louisburg, Jamison scored 13 points in the quarter.
The Warriors held NRCA to seven points in the fourth quarter. The Knights only made one field goal during the last five minutes.
While Louisburg’s defense tightened up, its offense turned a corner. Jamison put up his usual high amount of points in the final quarter, but the Warriors also got seven points from Jordan Durham.
Louisburg outscored NRCA 19-7 in the final stretch to win the game 65-57.
Jamison finished the game with an outstanding 40 points and 13 rebounds.
Louisburg is now 9-4 on the season. There will be a 10 day break until the Warriors are back in game action.
NRCA dropped to 5-13 overall. Next up, the Knights will travel to Wake Christian Academy on Tuesday.
