This is an update on former Enfield Academy, Statesville Christian & Veritas coach John Jordan. It was posted on Facebook by his daughter Jamie Jordan

Here is the big update on my dad John Jordan:

The last few weeks have been a complete roller coaster ride. Dad was admitted to the hospital again last Monday and was not in good shape. The doctors ordered a new CT scan which revealed that the tumor in his pancreas has grown and the cancer has begun to spread to his liver. He was able to have two procedures done that significantly improved his pain and nausea, but unfortunately he is no longer a candidate for surgery.

My dad is a fighter and a winner, so he has decided that in light of this tough reality he will have to craft a new definition of what it looks like to win this battle. For him, that means passing on the knowledge and wisdom he has gained over the years both on and off the court. He wants to use the time he has left to show all of the people in his life that he loves them deeply.

We will be heading to a wonderful hospice house this afternoon in Charlotte where we welcome anyone who would like to come see him. The doctors have told us a timeline could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, but Dad is focused on the present and living each day to its fullest.

We are hoping to begin planning a living memorial party for dad in the next couple weeks at his request instead of a funeral later. A GoFundMe page will also be popping up soon in an effort to help with the expenses of these past three months and planning a wonderful party that can accommodate the large number of people that will want the chance to join in celebrating the amazing man he is.
