WCA boys drop heartbreaker to Wake Christian
Wilson Christian Academy’s boys basketball team came a play short in Monday night’s 49-47 home loss to Wake Christian, as what would have been a game-tying, buzzer-beating layup rimmed out.
Deston Melvin led the Chargers (2-3) with 12 points, followed by Tyler Pegram with 11. Micah Worsley led the Bulldogs (1-3) with 18.
The Bulldogs trailed 41-34 through three quarters before rallying in the fourth and eventually losing on the last play in heartbreaking fashion.
Wilson Christian will be back in action next Tuesday at Friendship Christian.
