The Lady Eagles came away with a huge CAA win on Friday night against rival, Carolina Day School. The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 20-11 lead after the first quarter and led by as many as 18 points in the second and third quarters. As the two teams started the fourth, Rabun Gap led 46-31. However, Carolina Day went on a 5-0 run during the first minute of the fourth quarter to put the pressure on the Lady Eagles. Missed free throws by the Lady Eagles and some huge shots by Carolina Day made it exciting. CDS actually cut the lead to 54-52 with about a minute left until Josie Earnhardt and Meona Feather sank four consecutive FTs to preserve the 58-54 win. Meona Feather led the way with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Josie Earnhardt added 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Dammie Balogun finished with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Lynisa Gardiner did an excellent job managing the game as she added 6 points and 3 rebounds, but only had one turnover for the game.

On Saturday, Rabun Gap defeated Mt. Pisgah Christian in Johns Creek by the score of 47-32. It was a sluggish first half after the intense battle on Friday night with Carolina Day. However, the Lady Eagles used a 16-7 third quarter to take control of the game and led 36-22 heading into the final eight minutes. Meona Feather led the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Dammie Balogun added 12 points. Rabun Gap (10-5) have won ten of their last eleven games and will travel to Charlotte on Monday for an MLK Exposure Event at Providence Day School. The Lady Eagles will play Northside Christian out of Charlotte at 4:30 PM.
