We are thrilled to announce Mr. Russell Johnson has officially joined the Ridgecroft family as our new headmaster. Mr. Johnson lives in Conway and joins us from Chowan University, where he previously served as a professor in the Education Department.We conducted a quick interview to get to know Mr. Johnson, check out his answers below!
Describe your background and what you did prior to Ridgecroft.
"I spent 34 years in North Carolina public schools. I served as a teacher, instructional/curriculum specialist, assistant principal and principal. I've spent the last 7 years as an associate professor of education at Chowan University."
What do you like most about working in education?
"I love collaborating with the children, teachers and families. I want to be able to provide the best possible experience for children at school."
What is your favorite quote?
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from wince cometh my help." Psalm 121
What do you like to do in your free time?
I am a church organist, so music takes up a big part of my free time. I also enjoy gardening and selective travel.
