Free throws help Greenfield beat Leesville Road, 69-65

Raleigh, N.C. — Greenfield came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat Leesville Road 69-65 in the Millbrook Showcase on Saturday evening.

Leesville Road jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter as the Pride held Greenfield to just two field goals. Deon Daniels led the Pride with five points, while Carter Whitt and Scott Martin scored four points.

The Pride added to its lead in the second quarter, scoring more points in the second quarter than any other quarter. Whitt scored 12 points in the second quarter to lead the Pride.

Leesville Road led Greenfield 35-23 at halftime.

Greenfield came racing back in the third quarter. Creighton Lebo scored six points in the quarter and Dji Bailey added five points as Greenfield outscored Leesville Road 20-12 in the quarter. The Pride held on to a 47-43 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Greenfield only hit three field goals in the fourth quarter, but the Knights made 20-of-23 free throw attempts in the quarter, outscoring Leesville Road 26-18 to claim the win. Greenfield was 31-of-44 from the free throw line for the night.

Lebo finished with 16 points, Bailey added 14 points, and Collin Guilford and Trey Pittman scored 13 points for Greenfield.

Leesville Road was led by Whitt's 26 points, Martin's 16 points, and Aaron Zemonek's 10 points.
