HIGH POINT — John Meeks scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds and The Burlington School defeated Calvary Baptist 49-33 in the Triad Athletic Conference Tournament final Friday night in a high school boys’ basketball game held at Westchester Country Day.
Jordan Nelson added 12 points, six rebounds, and two steals for the unbeaten Spartans (33-0).
It was the 53rd straight victory for The Burlington School, dating back to last season’s one-loss campaign, which was capped with the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A state championship. The Spartans’ defense of that title begins next week.
Olusemi Boko paced Calvary Baptist (21-11) with 11 points.
