TBS Aniyah Vanhook Headed for Next Level

The Burlington School guard Aniyah Vanhook is joining the women’s basketball program at Mississippi Valley State. A 5-foot-7 guard, Vanhook averaged 23 points, 3.5 rebounds, four assists and five steals as a senior, helping the Spartans finish as the state runner-up.

Vanhook was the 2018-19 Times-News All-Region Player of the Year for girls’ basketball as a junior as the Spartans won a state championship.

Omarion Johnson, a forward for the Eastern Guilford boys’ basketball team, committed to Division III William Peace. Johnson provided 14.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.1 blocked shots a game as a senior.
