Ryan Bernardi has been named the boys' basketball coach at Prolific Prep of Napa Christian in Napa, California, according to a Friday morning news release from the program.

Bernardi spent the last three seasons as the boys' basketball coach at The Burlington School, winning back-to-back NCISAA state championships in each of the last two seasons and finishing as the state runner-up in his first season. Bernardi went a combined 81-22 as the Spartans coach.

"I am honored and thrilled to be named the next head basketball coach at Prolific Prep of Napa Christian," Bernardi said in a Prolific Prep statement. "I would like to thank Jeremy Russoti and Philippe Doherty for this incredible opportunity. Prolific Prep changes lives, on and off the court. I am fired up to be a part of an unbelievable tradition and exciting future."

Prolific Prep of Napa Christian is entering its ninth season in 2022-2023 and has produced eight McDonald’s All-Americans in the previous seven seasons. The program has had three players selected in the NBA Draft in the last four years, the most recent being Jalen Green, who was selected second overall by the Houston Rockets in 2021.

The Burlington School boys' basketball coach Ryan Bernardi stands with his team in the locker room after winning the NCISAA Class 2-A state championship.
He began his high school coaching career as the boys' basketball coach at Burlington Christian Academy, where he was hired as a 19-year-old and guided the Royals to an 18-9 record and the state quarterfinals in one season.

“Our program is a platform for both our players and our coaches as they aspire to get to the next level and beyond," Napa Christian co-directors Philippe Doherty and Jeremy Russotti said in a statement. "Ryan is an incredibly accomplished young coach who has a bright future ahead in the coaching industry. He will impact our players from around the world both on and off the court and help our young men achieve their dreams. Ryan built a powerful program in a very short period and will look to continue the success and tradition that Prolific Prep has displayed in its first eight years as a program. We are excited to welcome Ryan to the Prolific Prep of Napa Christian family.”

In four seasons as a coach at the high school level, Bernardi, an Elon alum, has helped 16 players reach college basketball and compiled a combined record of 99-31.
Bernardi also served as the athletics director at The Burlington School, taking over that position in August of 2020.
