Former Christ School standout declares to 2019 NBA Draft

Jalen Lecque, a former basketball standout at Christ School, has declared for the 2019 NBA draft.

The NC State commit and fifth-year high school player at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, posted a video on social media Saturday announcing his decision to forgo college.

In his Twitter video, Lecque thanks Christ School for "the opportunity" and making him the "man he is today."

According to Sports Illustrated, Lecque finished his NCAA requirements for graduation in the 2017-18 school year when he attended Christ School. Lecque is a year removed from his original high school class and will be 19 in June.

As a point guard, Lecque averaged nearly a triple-double – 20.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, 9.3 assists – for the Greenies during his time at Christ School and was named the All-WNC player of the year.

Brewster Academy finished 34-7 overall in 2019 and Lecque averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 0.8 blocks and 1.8 turnovers in 30 minutes per game, according to ESPN.
