Chargers fall short against Wake

Wilson Christian’s fourth-quarter attempts at a rally fell short in 64-47 boys basketball loss to visiting Wake Christian on Friday.

The Chargers of the North Carolina Christian School Association and Bulldogs of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association were tied at 50 before Wake took control. Wilson Christian had the ball down three points twice in the final two minutes but couldn’t tie or take the lead.

Sophomore Jimmy Forte had 16 points and eight rebounds to pace Wilson Christian, which dropped to 5-5 on the season. Drew Coleman netted 15 points and Cody Taybron added 12 points. Jay Grissom snatched eight rebounds.

Wilson Christian will host Fayetteville Berean Baptist on Tuesday.
