The Spartans improved to 19-1 Wednesday evening after defeating local rival Oxford Prep (8-9) in straight sets to earn a non-conference victory. The visiting Spartans started out strong, cruising
to a 25-6 victory in the first set to gain an early edge. Kerr-Vance’s Sydney Tippett (3 aces, 4 digs) led the team with 10 kills as the Spartans completely outmatched the Griffins in the final two sets, winning by scores of 25-12 and 25-10 respectively.
The Spartans’setters were on point Wednesday, as Alexis Reese (8 assists) and Caroline Hoyle (13 assists) combined for 21 total assists on the night. Kassidy Dickerson (7 kills, 6 aces, 8 digs), Emily Carr (7 kills, 2 blocks) and Ashley Dickerson (6 kills, 5 aces, 4 digs) also performed well for Kerr- Vance.
The Spartans hosted Cresset Christian in a non-conference match last night and will host the
Carolina Mustangs, the only team to defeat them all season, Tuesday evening
