Northwood Temple Nips Trinity Christian
MATTHEWS — JaQuantae Harris converted a four-point play with 2.5 seconds remaining Friday night giving Northwood Temple a 68-65 win over Trinity Christian in the semifinals of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association state tournament.
Trailing by one, Harris made a 3-pointer and was fouled. The 6-foot sophomore made the free throw to account for the final score. Trinity Christian was unable to tie the game on its final possession.
Harris finished with 25 points for Northwood Temple (23-14), which advances to Saturday’s championship game against the winner between The Burlington School and Wilson Greenfield. Reggie Raynor scored 13 for the Eagles.
For Trinity Christian (26-4), Fred Dillione led with 19 points followed by Todd Burt Jr. with 13 and Cameran Oates with 11.
