HIGH POINT - Josh Nifong, Luke Gesell, Zach McLean and Dylan Wilkinson combined on a 4-hit shutout as High Point Christian opened the season with a 4-0 victory over the GSA Stallions at Oak View Baptist.
The Cougars scored all four of their runs in the fifth on three home runs.
Timmy Fischvogt was hit by a pitch to start the inning. McLean, the next batter, hit a two-run homer that was followed by solo shots by Wilkinson and Bailey Edwards.
McLean also doubled twice.
HPCA returns to action against Providence Day on Friday.
