Cyclones register first league win
WINTERVILLE — The visiting Community Christian School varsity boys basketball team cracked the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A Coastal Independents Conference win column with a 73-55 victory against Christ Covenant on Friday evening.
Jimmy Forte, a 6-foot-3 senior, poured in a season-high 38 points to lead the Cyclones to their third win against seven losses. CCS stands 1-2 in the conference.
Forte was complemented by 6-3 junior Andrew Gattis with 15 points and senior Mike Piccolo with 11. Senior Thomas Lane pulled down seven rebounds.
The Cyclones of head coach Roland Loftin next see action against Grace Christian of Raleigh in the Greenfield Christmas Tournament next Thursday.
