Forte goes for 62 in CCS runaway

Junior Jimmy Forte thrived in the pressure environment put forth by head coach Kenneth Atkinson and the Community Christian School varsity boys basketball team Friday night.

So much so, he single-handedly outscored the evening’s opponent in Winterville Christ Covenant.

Forte connected on seven 3-pointers and had nine steals, on his way to a massive 62-point display as the Cyclones (2-2) owned a 15-point lead after one quarter and coasted to the 93-52 win in the 1-A/2-A Coastal Independents Conference opener for CCS in ENCSD’s Barney Williamson Gym.

Junior Christian McFarland had nine points and six steals, while Jeremiah Williams, a freshman tallied six points, four blocks and 19 rebounds.

The Cyclones play host to Greenfield on Monday in Williamson Gym.
