Harrells Christian Academy’s football team got its second win in a row Friday night in commanding fashion, stomping Fayetteville Christian 47-0.

HCA completely owned the first half where they scored most of their points of the night, having a 34-0 lead to end the half.

The Crusaders scored 14 in the first quarter to get an early two score lead. The first touchdown came at 9:16 by Mar’chris Jackson on a 36-yard carry. The second TD came at 4:33 on another rushing play, this time Malik Williams scored on a 14-yard carry.

Both point after tries were good as the first quarter ended with the Crusaders having a 14-0 lead.

HCA out did their previous quarter performance by scoring three unanswered TDs in the second.

Jack Laslo scored on a 8-yard run in less than two minutes into the second quarter at 10:36. Then at 7:16, the special team scored a touchdown of their own on 65-yard punt return by Thyshon Newkirk, the PAT was missed on this score.

Harrells scored its last TD of the half on a 12-yard reception by Aaron Smith on a pass from Zack Todd.

The Crusaders scored twice more before the game ended and both TDs came in the third quarter. The first was on a 9-yard run by Shaquor Newkirk as the clock hit 8:09, which was followed by another missed PAT. They rounded out their dominating performance at 6:16 when the defense scored a touchdown on a 54-yard interception return by T. Newkirk.

With neither team scoring in the fourth, the game came to its conclusion with Harrells winning it in a shutout.

Top offensive players for HCA were S. Newkirk with 134 yards on 9 carries and a touchdown, Jackson with 46 yards on two carries and a TD and Williams who ended with 36 yards on two carries and a TD.

Defensive leaders included Shameek Darby with 5 tackles and a sack, S. Newkirk who had 5 and one for loss and Laslo finishing with 5 tackles as well.

With their second win in a row Harrells now sits at 4-4 overall on the season, they won’t be back in action until Oct. 20 taking on Wake Christian Academy at home.
