The Eagles dropped their second consecutive game by a 52-14 score, this one coming on the road.
Rocky Mount Academy (2-2, 1-2 Big 8 Conference) scored one touchdown in the second and third quarters, but couldn’t hold the Warriors (4-0, 3-0), who scored in each of the first three frames, off the board.
Jacob Braddy fired a touchdown pass to Will Varnell in the second quarter to tie the score at 8-8. But the RMA deficit would balloon to 44-8 before the Eagles would score again.
And with about two minutes to go in the third quarter, Isaiah Thomas threw a 78-yard touchdown strike to Braddy to cut into the Warriors lead at 14-44. But that would be as close as the Eagles got in an NCISAA Big 8 Conference loss.
RMA plays next at Arendell Parrott on Oct. 5.
