CCS yields 53 first-quarter points, falls 66-8

The opposition’s 53-point outburst in the first quarter buried the host Community Christian School eight-player football team by a 66-8 count against nonconference foe Wayne Christian on Friday evening.
The Cyclones managed a fourth-quarter score in falling to 0-5 (including a forfeit).
CCS averted a shutout with nine minutes left on Noah Pierce’s 19-yard dash. Copeland Farmer added the two-point conversion.
Wayne Christian scored seven touchdowns in the opening quarter on three passes, three running plays and an interception return. The visitors also scored a safety.
The Cyclones wound up with 211 yards total offense. Michael Piccolo was the top rusher with 44 yards on nine carries, while Farmer wound up with 40 yards on 15 rushes. Pierce completed 3-of-9 passes for 91 yards. Austin Bissette was the leading receiver with two receptions for 60 yards. Trey Barnes caught one pass for 31 yards.
