Greenfield dominates Grace Christian of Sanford to win 1A soccer title, 7-0

WILSON, N.C. — Greenfield School claimed the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1A boys soccer state championship on Saturday afternoon, beating Grace Christian of Sanford, 7-0.
It didn't take Greenfield long to score. In the first minute, Jeremy Alvarez found the net to put the Knights up 1-0. Then in the sixth minute, a corner kick by Richard Shealy found William Powell for another score, giving Greenfield a 2-0 lead.
Greenfield poured it on after that. R.J. Shealy added to the Kinghts' lead with a goal in the 13th minute. Then in the 31st minute, Sebastian Partida, Jr., added a goal. Finally, in the 34th minute, Jacob Wiggs found William Smith for the final goal of the first half.
At halftime, Greenfield led Grace Christian 5-0.
Shealy picked up where Greenfield left off to start the second half. Six minutes into the second half, Shealy scored his second goal of the game to put the Knights' lead at 6-0. Smith made it 7-0 moments later when he scored his second goal in the 51st minute. That score held through the rest of the game.
With the state championship win, Greenfield ends the season with a 9-3 overall record. Grace Christian's season ends with an 8-3 record and a runner-up finish.
