HIGH POINT — High Point Christian defeated Forsyth Country Day, 52-44, in PTAC boys basketball Friday at HPCA.
Ethan Smith had 16 points, three rebounds and three steals for the Cougars (11-5 overall, 2-1 PTAC). K.J. Garrett added 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, followed by Isaiah Sanders with nine points, and P.J. Underhill with six points and seven rebounds.
In the girls game, HPCA stayed undefeated with a 52-44 win. Kennedy Powell had 26 points, three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals to lead the Cougars (14-0, 3-0), who outscored the Furies 30-15 over the middle two quarters. Tiir Nyok added 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals.
Nadiya Hairston chipped in eight points, nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals.
