Chargers hold off Oak Forest 70-68 in OT
After a lengthy break from the court, the Wilson Christian varsity boys basketball team returned to action Tuesday and started 2022 with a thrilling 70-68 overtime win at home against Oak Forest home school team from Wake Forest.
The Chargers (6-6) got overtime buckets from Will Hoskins, Jordan Mills and Deston Melvin to repel the Warriors (5-8). Hoskins led WCA with 19 points that included a pair of key 3-pointers in the third quarter, while Mills netted 11 of his 15 points after halftime. Melvin added 12 points and Turner Provo chipped in 11 points.
Luke Wallace had a game-high 21 points for Oak Forest.
The Chargers will host Southside Christian of Clayton in another nonconference game Thursday.
