Lady Chargers let lead slip away to Oak Forest
Slow and steady didn’t win the race for Wilson Christian in Tuesday’s nonconference varsity girls basketball home game against Oak Forest home school team as the Warriors erupted for 23 points in the final quarter to win 56-47.
Wilson Christian (21-5) led 10-6 after the first quarter before Oak Forest put up 21 points in the second period to own a 27-24 halftime lead.
However, the Lady Chargers went back in front after outscoring the Warriors 13-6 in the third quarter only to see Oak Forest revive in the fourth quarter.
Kate Hoskins hit four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points for WCA while Jocelyn Bailey supplied 11 points and Grace Farmer contributed eight points.
Maddie Powell’s 24 points paced Oak Forest.
Wilson Christian returns to North Carolina Christian School Association 2-A East Region play Tuesday at home against Bethel Christian.
