Shorthanded Lady Chargers foiled by Post's 4

FAYETTEVILLE - Down four usual starters, the Wilson Christian varsity girls soccer team had no answer for Fayetteville Village Christian's Kelly Post on Tuesday, as she knocked in four goals to send the Lady Chargers to a 4-1 non-conference defeat.

Freshman Jenna Hunter's goal on an assist from senior Kimberlyn Evans in the final minute of the first half sandwiched the four goals from Post. She scored in the fourth, 27th, 60th and 72nd minutes as the Lady Chargers dipped to 5-5-1 overall."We looked good and made a few mistakes," Wilson Christian head coach Don Samson reviewed. "Then we started to improve and ran out of gas."

WCA, which was outshot 11-9, presented with just 13 players for the match due to injuries, fine arts commitments and other factors. Sophomore Kimberly Lamm had eight saves for Wilson Christian, which continues non-conference play Friday at home against archrival Wake Christian.
