Knights blank Saints
GREENVILLE — Behind a four-save shutout from Kel Winstead and game-winning goal from Harrison Batchelor, the Greenfield School boys soccer team picked up its fifth NCISAA 2-A/3-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference win with a 1-0 victory over John Paul II Catholic on Monday.
Batchelor scored the game’s lone goal to deliver the win for the Knights (12-3-1, 5-1 CPIC).
Winstead made four saves to keep the Saints (4-6, 2-4) scoreless, and the Knights outshot John Paul II Catholic 21-12.
Greenfield will visit Arendell Parrott Academy on Tuesday.
