The Greenfield School varsity boys soccer team failed to win a match in the recent 45th annual Ravenscroft Soccer Invitational in Raleigh.
However, Knights junior Jackson Stone impressed not only to the extent of being selected all-tournament, but the coaches voted him the Most Outstsanding Player.
“That was a bit surprising,” commented Greenfield head coach Randol Mendoza, “but the coaches felt Jackson was the one who stood out consistently throughout the whole tournament.”
Stone netted three goals in Greenfield’s matches.
The Knights competed along with Ravenscroft, Charlotte Latin, Christ School, Cary Academy, Coastal Christian, North Raleigh Christian and Cannon School.
Stone paces Greenfield with 23 goals and 11 assists and is averaging 1.6 goals per match. In MaxPreps, Stone is nationally ranked No. 36 in total points.
