HIGH POINT — High Point Christian swept Davidson Day 5-1 and 7-0 in a doubleheader Thursday at Oak View Baptist.
Tim Fischvogt laced a bases-loaded triple to lead the Cougars in the first game. Ryan Hopkins was 1 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI. Curtis Dillon was 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Luke Gesell (4-0) was the winning pitcher. He allowed two hits and struck out seven over four innings
In the second game, Josh Nifong also allowed two runs and struck out seven in picking up the win.
Nifong and Brody Lawson each went 2 for 3, doubled, drove in a run and scored one. Gesell was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
HPCA improves to 19-1 and 4-0 in the PACIS.
