Neuse Christian Academy defeated The Burlington School 4-1 in a Mid-Carolina Conference opener.
Caleb Pickett scored the lone goal for the Spartans (1-2 overall), off an assist from Bobby McQueen. That came in the 50th minute and cut Neuse Christian’s lead to 2-1.
