Lady Cyclones topple Greenfield 2-0
The Community Christian School varsity girls soccer team evened its 1-A Coastal Plain Independents Conference record at 1-1 with a 2-0 shutout of crosstown rival Greenfield on Thursday night at Forbes Field.
CCS (4-3, 1-1 CPIC) outshot the Lady Knights 20-4 and beat sophomore Greenfield keeper Sumer Hassan for a pair of goals, both in the first half.
The Lady Cyclones found a path past Hassan in the 16th minute and repeated the feat in the 32nd.
Greenfield, which was participating in its CPIC opener, dropped to 4-5.
Goal scorers were not available for CCS.
Greenfield is at Winterville Christ Covenant on Monday, while CCS welcomes Kerr-Vance on Thursday, March 30.
