HIGH POINT — Payton Day went 2 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs as Wesleyan Christian Academy opened its season with a 19-5 victory over SouthLake Christian on Tuesday.
Natalie Diaz earned the pitching win for the Trojans, striking out nine and allowing four walks and two earned runs. Wesleyan’s Kayla Brewer finished 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, while Bella Dunning was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Chandler Deese was 1 for 2 with a double, Reagan Neal was 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, Christy Le was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Diaz was 1 for 4. Wesleyan competes in a tournament at Gaston Christian Academy on Saturday
